The Brief
The Judges’ Dining Room is a restaurant and wine bar, with a relaxed luxurious feel hidden in the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell. No expense has been spared with restoring the 17th century building and restaurant. Gas lights, low velvet chairs and bare walls make the dining experience truly immersive experience. The brief for the brand was to reference the buildings history, keeping things traditional whilst minimal.
The Result
Working along side the Designer Augustus Winter, we chose the logo type ‘Albertus MT Regular’, known for bronze letter carving, the restaurants main material. The branding also uses an accompanying watermark, re-drawn from original documents found in the refurbished dining room. The marbled paper is also taken from the original judges books once filling the room. The result is something clean and modern with multiple applications, whilst referencing the buildings deep history.
